Subject: Groin muscle issues
Hi all this is my first post. Just a quick thanks to all posters on here, its a wealth of info.

Im 26. When i was 16 i ripped my groin muscle.

I can feel it during my training. Its like an awareness, but when I bike it definitely aggrevates it and i need to take days off whenever it feels a bit too sore.

Thing is it kind of always is there. Im doing all i can to get rid of it (ice baths, rest days, massage) and i still know its there.

Was wondering if anyone has had a similar thing and what you did to resolve it? I was considering bringing in weight training into my regime to strengthen it?

Its so bloody frustrating.

Cheers

Had a similar issue which started about 7 years ago.  Not sure if I tore my groin but I had a ton of pain and was worried.  I went to every doctor....primary/uro/surg/can, etc...
Not one could find anything wrong?  After all the testing which seemed to take a year they finally told me that I strained or tore something and the groin could/would never heal without enough time off.  I was really into lifiting and I would rest, and then start again and re injure it.  Needless to say this sucked...I finally took a good 6 months off..I mean donig nothing...no lifting/cycling/swiming/running...etc...
FINALLY its gone, every know and again If I feel any pain I back off for a few days - usually it only gets irrateded when I am doing heavy squats.
Anyways just my two cents, hopefully this helps and I would recommend just taking it easy until there is no pain...if you need to do ice baths, etc... you may be pushing it.

Good Luck, and keep us posted.
