Subject: Training question for HIM

So I just finished my first tri, a sprint distance last weekend.  I really enjoyed it despite some of my first-event issues.  Now I've got my eyes on the Gulf Coast Tri in May 2010.  It's  a HIM distance and I need some guidance on training.  I have about 35 weeks, so I feel confident that I have plenty of time to prepare, I just need to figure out the best way to go about it.  Most of the generic plans I've seen are 16 or 20 weeks.  I am guessing that I have two options:

1.) Get a custom training plan for 35 weeks so that I can start now and ramp up steadily to peak at race time.  Where could I find a resource for custom plans?

2.) Complete 15 weeks of base training (of my own design), then start a stock 20 week program.  If I were to do this, I would probably start by maintaining my current bike/run schedule and adding a swimming class.

Swimming is my weakest leg and I need to get some coaching on fundamentals (either through a class or online) no matter which way I train.  This makes me think that maybe my #2 option is best, but then again, I want to get into hard-core structured training asap to make sure that I'm taking full advantage of the time that I have.
Any feedback is appreciated.

"Training Plans for Multisport Athletes" has a 27-week HIM training plan in it.

To start this plan it states:

"... you have been training between 7-8 hours a week. Swimming once or twice a week, running three times a week, and cycling once or twice a week for an hour."

So if you bought the book and used the plan, you could then work on maintaining or building up to all of that before starting the program.
