Subject: alabama bi coastal
Thinking about doing this one, I have done an olympic and sprint distance tri and think the one mile swim on this will be great experience, how hard is swimming one mile in the pool in compariosn to open water? My other tris were in lakes etc. I am abit worried about the swim!

have swam many races in the gulf and it all depends on condition. If the weather is calm, gulf swim is pretty easy. The salt water makes you more buoyant. If its rough, then it can be more difficult espeially with navigation.. They do this race as a time trial start so you want get beat up by the crowd.
