Should I wear a tri suit?

I'm training for a sprint tri next month. It will be my 2nd tri, but my first one where the swim takes place in a pool (yay!). The bike is short enough where my butt should be okay without the extra padding that bike shorts/tri suits provide. Should I just wear a regular swim suit and throw on a shirt/shorts for the bike? For some reason I feel weird wearing my tri suit in a pool...
