Pre-race routine:

4:20 a.m. Wake up Bowl of cheerios and Special K. 4 Oz of water. Load bad, Bike into Truck. Back in house to hit Bana 1 more time. 05:00 Get Markus and drive up to Wyckoff. Arrived at 05:35. Park, Walk over get chip, Get bike off truck, Pump tires, and head over to Racks.
Put up my Flag. Laid out Shoes, Clothes, and Talked to Rack neighbors. Went to Port-a-john before line got too long.
Event warmup:

Sat under a tree and stretched and enjoyed the quiet time. 06:45 got my wetsuit on and headed over to the Lake.

Lots of Body contact in the first 200yards. Then I settled in, Rounded the first Bouy and picked up the pace.

Increase pace a little more. Only the last 400 I gave 100%

I had a good position in the Rack, so I was out on the Road to mount in 20 seconds.

Run from lake to racks quicker.

Pushed hard in miles 1-5. Got relaxed in 5-10 and then pushed really hard last 7 miles. Right calf was cramping and lower back. Also had to adjust my seat position, Numbness!!!!!

Hit the water stations, did not stop, and drank just right.

First 2 miles were at 20:21. then I started to feel good, and increased my pace.
