A friend of mine sent me this link about new, revolutionary bike lanes in Washington DC. This looks like a good step towards safer cycling and a very interesting concept:

That's pretty cool!  My daughter goes to school at College Park (go terps!) and sometimes takes her bike on the bus to DC - I'll have to tell her about this.
