Pre-race routine:

Met training partners for ride to sight. Ate Harvest bar and water with 1/2 cup of coffee.
Event warmup:

Too bloody cold out for much warm up. Set up spot in tranny and waited in line for the swim start.

O.K. transition. Need to polish a few things. Longer than usual due to adding layers due to cold weather.

Straps open on cycling shoes - DUH!

Good course, set nice tempo, not as cold on the bike as I thought it might get.

Drink more sooner! Push harder on more consistent basis.

Long distance from bike dismount to tranny spot. Porbably ran almost 40 sec or more.
What would you do differently?:

Have race number belt open. Open bottle of Cytomax for nutrition befor e running out.

Drink sooner on the bike. Go Faster!

Warm down:

Couple of bottles of water and a bad bagel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nutrition/water timing. Not familiar with the course enough. Didn't feel like the bike was rolling great. May need to work on downhill bike handling.

Event comments:

Was added to the schedule as a practice for transitions for Memphis in May. Turns out that with a little extra effort I would have finished in the top 5 of my age group. Oh well, AG M40-44 6th/30.
