Comments: What a beautiful day for a race. Martha, Mari, Dana and Paul did the 5K. Billy, Ramiro Alfredo M and I did the 10K. There were about 1100 participants altogether. It was great. It felt weird going to a race without the bike and other stuff. This was my first road race in close to 2 years. I figured since I ran a 46+ 10K at the Longleaf Tri in October, I could at least run close to 42-43 minutes today. Started out the race running with Ramiro. After mile 2 he said he was going to slow down, so I went at it solo the rest of the way. I felt good the first half of the race and then decided to push on the second half. The weather stayed cool eventhough the sun was already out. Since there were a few parts of the course that were out and backs, I got to see the whole gang a couple of times throughout the race. Overall, it was great to race with my regular training partners, but is was even better to race with Paul and the wives. Congratulations to everyone who came out to do it. Next up is a 15K on December 18th. What would you do differently?: Nada. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Ran back to the car to get my R4 and ran back to see the rest of the finishers. Event comments: This event will replace my T-day tradition of riding. Awesome race and participants. Last updated: 2005-11-18 12:00 AM
