Comments: My race strategy was to hold an 8 minute mile through mile 10, and at that time re-evaluate how it was going. I'm not fast by running standards, but an 8 min/mile felt slow, starting out. But, I absolutely stuck to it because I knew if I went faster I'd run out of gas later. By mile 8 or so, the pace began to feel suitably difficult for me. I went through mile 10 at 78 minutes, 2 ahead of schedule, and tried to pick up the pace ever so slightly. I wound up maintaining my pace, which was just fine with me. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Stretch, walk. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing! I did as well as I could have. This is my new half mary PR, by nearly 8 minutes. So I am extremely happy with how it went. As for performing faster, I'd need to do the obvious: more volume, more speedwork, weight training. Last updated: 2005-12-04 12:00 AM

Yesterday: hydrated with 56 oz of Infinit. Pasta/chicken lunch and lasagna for dinner. According to my diet diary I had a total of 350 grams of carbs.
