Need help...this is really weird

Ok...long story short.  We were in Dallas last week looking at houses and we walked into this house and above the fireplace is this picture (below).  Ok, so what?  Well, this is the exact same picture that was in my fathers house.  My father passed away very suddenly in June.  Now, this picture matched nothing else in the house (which was beautifully decorated).  We ended up buying this house, not because of the picture, but it did help.  I want to think that it was a sign from my Dad that this was the house we should buy. (I know...get a grip Marcy!)  Anyway, we offered to buy the picture from the homeowner but am not sure what it is worth, and I don't know the artists name.  The picture from my dad's was given to my aunt but she could not read the name on the picture.  Anybody recognize this artist.  I think he is an Israeli artist but that's about all I know.  I think that we will always be well looked over in this house.  My Dad died way too young!
