Comments:

This was my first time walking a race. I walked because I've had an injury that prevents me from running. Since I'll be doing a marathon in about a month I wanted to get an idea of what it felt like walking a race. It was actually a lot of fun. I got to see the fastest people finish and cheer them on. And I was able to enjoy myself more and not feel so rushed. I stopped and picked a flower, spoke to all the race volunteers along the way, enjoyed the scenery, and still finished with a decent pace for walking.
What would you do differently?:

Not feel down so much before the race because I can't run. Remeber how much fun I had walking this one and really enjoy every part of it.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked back to the car, which was half a mile or so.

Event comments:

It was wonderful racing with all women!

Performance: Good
Course: Around Candler Park. It was relatively hilly, but we run/walk there all the time so I'm used to those hills. There was one place where the fastest runners doubled back by those of us who were slower moving as they pushed it in to the finish line. It was fun to watch them finish.

Great job on the race! Saturday was beautiful - perfect for walking. And even if you can't run right now, remember that you're moving, and enjoying it.
