Comments: I found out I am getting fitter, but I need more core and leg strength. My HR was OK, but at Mile 10...my legs just wouldn't go. I walked A LOT of it. Pain in right foot put an end to any running in the last two miles. What would you do differently?: More workouts during the week. Use new stretches twice a day. Weight training and core specific training. Back to the podiatrist. Post race
Warm down: Pitbull concert! toes in the sand, hands in the air!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of core strength. Foot pain, right foot. Event comments: On the back stretch they could have used another water station...they started spacing them further apart so I would EXPECT one, and there would be none. Generally OK. But if you are going to put them every mile, then have them EVERY DAMNED MILE throughout. But the on course music was fantastic, the water stations were WELL DONE, and the volunteers were way above average. This is Miami though, we don't do a lot of things well, but this running stuff WE GOT DOWN. The 70.3 people should take a lesson. Last updated: 2011-12-12 12:00 AM
