Comments: Hard making my way through traffic. Probably could have gotten a better time if I'd been more aggressive in getting up front. What would you do differently?: Get closer to the front for the start. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: No real problems here. My cycling shoes are the three strap variety, not the speedy triathlong specific kind, so it takes a bit of time to get into them properly. What would you do differently?: Might invest in triathlon specific shoes for shorter races where transition times really matter the most, like this race. ![]() Bike
Comments: Had plenty of energy through the bike section. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Quick on/off. Even ran with my gloves on to save time since the run wouldn't take much time. What would you do differently?: Nothing. ![]() Run
Comments: Had good advice from my local triathlon club coach who told me to keep the steps short and fast coming off the bike to let the legs get back into the running mode. What would you do differently?: Nothing. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Gatorade and water. A little walking around. The lots of yard work at home. Event comments: This was a fun local race. Not a huge number of participants, but that is OK. Everyone seemed to have a good time. Fun to watch the varying levels of equipment. Some folks had expensive modern bikes and a couple people rode mountain bikes. Pretty much a come as you are and have fun event. Last updated: 2006-05-21 12:00 AM
