The water was REALLY cold.

What would you do differently?:

Originally sat to try to take off wetsuit then stood and stepped on it to get out. Next time stand from the beginning.

Really difficult course with 2 large climbs. One of the downhill sections ends with a 120 degree turn.
Transition 2
  • 01m 25s
Comments:

I need to practice getting out of bike shoes on the bike!
Run
  • 50m 30s
  • 10 kms
  • 05m 03s  min/km
Comments:

Really tough course. It took 2-3 kms for the legs to feel "normal" and even then, it wasn't great. The course seemed uphill both ways!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

A good night's sleep

Event comments:

This race was incredibly well organized. Immediately afterwards was the elite races which were the USA Triathlon Olympic Qualifying Races in which Susan Williams and Victor Plata qualified. It was great to see the top ranked pros race upclose!
