Swim
Comments: This was an awful swim. This was my second OWS and my first went way better. I could not get my rhythm, (not that I have much of one to start). After the first 100 yards I literally felt like I had to quit. Ended up laying on my back taking some deep breaths etc. to get my composure before I could continue. The crowd, murky water, lack of warm-up etc all played in to a terrible swim. What would you do differently?: Hang back, swim on outskirts, avoid crowded start-allow myself to get in a better rhythm. Transition 1
Comments: Took it slow, tried to gain my composure before getting on bike. What would you do differently?: I can speed this up in future Bike
Comments: Still working on my speed for biking, slowly improving, way too many people passed me. What would you do differently?: Just work on improving speed. Transition 2
Comments: Ok transition, deliberately took it slow after St. George T2 was so bad for me. Just taking this a little bit slower helped give me the legs I needed for the 5K. What would you do differently?: Not much, this was ok. Run
Comments: Much improved from my previous sprint run, though admittedly this was a much easier course. Though I hope to improve my time still I was happy with improvement, (2 min/mile quicker than previous). What would you do differently?: Continue to work on improving speed and endurance. Post race
Warm down: Bagel, water, energy bar etc. Watched my daughter participate in the kids tri held in association with this. She is going to be a triathalete. Kids course was short but a nice taste for her (3rd place overall among girls). She will be beating me in races in no time. She's hooked! What limited your ability to perform faster: Not very well rested week before. Disposal broke night before race so I was up late trying to fix that. Whole week before race I had early mornings and late nights. Otherwise I'm just slow! But I sure enjoy the comraderie, being in shape etc. What a great sport! Event comments: Fun, family oriented event. Last updated: 2006-06-17 12:00 AM

No routine this morning. Rushing all morning to get there on time. I hate being late for these things.
Rushing to get transition set up, pick up packet, timing chip etc was my only warm-up.
