I live an hour from Omaha.  My two daughters went shopping last night for some of the black Friday specials.  They were at a Younker's store when people started running out of the store and my daughters heard people say gunshots and so they got out.  They helped some people out that were getting pushed and trampled.  They did not know of any serious injuries, but did see people go do and they went back and helped them.  They helped some kids find their parents and kept three ladies warm in their car because the ladies couldn't get to their car because of the police, fire and rescue vehicles.  The news is reporting that there was no gunshots, but they also had another problem at another shopping mall with a rough evacuation of that store also.

Nothing is worth people getting hurt over for a gift.  That tells you how bad the "Christmas" holiday is getting about monetary gifts!!!!

At least both of my daughters are back to our house and sleeping.  They will be headed back to their own homes in the next 24 hours, but they are not planning on ever shopping on Black Friday again.

Haven't really heard any news yet this morning and sorry to hear about this. Great to hear how your lil ones responded during this event. You should be and I imagine are very proud of how your children responded. Rural NE & IA people rock!
