Subject: RE: St. George's DragonThe versions that I found after a quick search seem to me to indicate it being representative of external threats illustrated in a romanticised manner. Mostly it seems to be about Christian faith prevailing over some perceived threat (the dragon, sometimes presented as plague-bearing ) with a fair maiden thrown in for good measure (always a plus! ). Since it seems to take place around the time of the Crusades an in Libya, I think it may have been a middle-ages parable of Christianity "prevailing" over Islam, or something similar.
So I say take it as you prevailing over The Hill and an indication that you should have faith in yourself and your ability to defeat your own dragon.
Maybe? 'Sounds good to me, but my personal philosophies are pretty goofy, so take it as worth what you paid. |
