Let's discuss this race! Who is going? Have you previously done this race? Any advice? Is this your first time there? Is camping available?

This will be my first triathlon -- I just registered for the sprint tri.

I have read that Lake Berryessa is about 55 degrees in April and I'd love to hear from other folks who have done this race if most/some/few wear a wetsuit. I'm an open water swimmer, but haven't ever swum in water under 65 degrees. I plan to start training in a wetsuit anyway (have to get one first!), but I'm curious what others tend to do. It's a short swim, only 750 yards, and maybe a wetsuit really isn't necessary?

I was passing others who were saying, "Good job, 587" (that was my race number). People were cheering me on. These were the nicest people I have ever been around!

Have a goal when you get into the water. If your purpose is distance, then set your pace for endurance. If your objective is speed, then incorporate drills.
