Was hoping for some clarification on a question about tracking the elevation gains on my workouts. Today I created a route here on BT for a 34 mile bike ride with lots of hills. I was fairly surprised to see the total elevation gain was 960 feet. It seemed really low, so I recreated the route on MapMyRun, and it showed 2596 feet of elevation gain. Any ideas as to why there would be such a big difference? I know these aren't totally accurate, but I'd expect something a lot closer.
Unless told otherwise, I'm going to believe I did the bigger climb
If you look at the elevation, you do have a rogue point which may be causing the discrepancy. I am working on my programmer in tweaking our algorithm to ignor these things and we'll also correct this route.
In the meantime, let me know if you find any other large discrepancies.
Lots of updates in this version! Map your routes and elevation profiles of single sport workouts, bricks and races! Directly integrates into BT's training log to assign routes to workouts.
