Subject: Hi from New Hampshire! Hi! I'm Chris, and while this isn't my first rodeo, it's my first in a long time. I love triathlon, but have been away from it for a long, long time because of seminary, work, family, and life in general. That's all taken it's toll, but I am trying to motivate myself to get back into the tri life as a way to lose more pounds than I will admit here--and return to some semblance of my former race shape (I'm in my late 40's now...and did my last race in my late 30's). Anyway...former accomplishments in the tri world include more sprints than I can count, several 1/2 IMs and finishing IMLP twice (2004, 2007). I've also done the NYC Marathon, but since there's no swim or bike in front of it, it doesn't count in my book (I'm not discounting it...I just never saw the point in doing *just* a marathon) . I was never super fast (IM times were 14:16 and 14:40) but it was never about that for me...it was about being in shape and pushing through perceived walls. On a personal level, I'm married with 3 teenagers--two of whom are still in the house. Goals are as simple as they are stated above--return to being in good shape and have fun doing it. Ciao, -Chris |
