Just wanted to welcome you to the boards. Shelly |

Hi Shelly! I run and ride the roads west of I-55 (Wadesboro Rd & Pumpkin Center area). Swimming has been an issue, got a couple of invites out to Whispering Pines (when there are no campers) for some OWS. I'll be doing the Masters program at Zemurray Park when it opens on the 15th. If you go to New Roads on May 12th, I'll be wearing a white shirt and er..... uh.... signaling when the event is over if you know what I mean Bob |

My parents live on Wadesboro and dh and I live in Coles Creek. We ride our subdivision and Jefferson Court but haven't gotten brave enough to venture onto Hwy 22 or Wadesboro. I swore I was going to ride to my mom's house but she, my dad, and dh all had a fit. I tried to convince them they're just being paranoid but no luck. It just wasn't worth making them all stress. OWS has been an issue for us as well, we've been to Fountaineblue State Park and swim there some but it's not ideal. You have to go a decent way out to get in water deep enough to swim. For us it's ok because we're only doing sprint distance tri's right now, but I wish we had better options. We mostly use the pool at North Cypress which is far from ideal. I didn't do the masters at Zemurray because it just doesn't fit well with my schedule. There is a group at Perfectly Fit that does that Masters class as well. You may be one of them already- lol, but if not the owner Mark is a really nice guy and into triathlons himself, and I think the group trains together as well. Good luck at New Roads. We have family stuff so can't do that one. Shelly |

Shelly and DH, Three of us ride/race through Coles Creek 3X week at noon. We all work on 22 and it's our lunch ride. Wave us down someday and say hi. I know Mark, he's a great resource. We also run Wadesboro Rd. on the weekends. It's my favorite, courteous drivers and what few dogs there are just want to say hi. 5 miles of cycling heaven. |

(tentative date & location). Guarantee a spot, save money! March 22 is the last day to take advantage of this offer! |

Do you know any areas in East/West Baton Rouge where I can do this? My boyfriend only does OWS triathlons but he's from Lake Charles, and he doesn't know this area. |

Member 98 Baton Rouge | Subject: RE: Tri New Roads Went out to Satterfeilds this weekend for a quick swim and ride. For those doing Tri New Roads in a couple weeks, if they keep the same bike route that they usually do, good luck, the roads are in horrible shape. They've started construction on the back side of the lake. Maybe they plan on being done by the 16th, if not, hopefully the RD has planned for this. Just thought I'd give ya'll a heads up. The swim course was as it usually is...wet. |

Member 98 Baton Rouge | Subject: RE: Tri New Roads Just down the boat ramp as if it were a race. Parked in "transition". The "no wake zone" bouys are about 400' apart, so we just swam back and forth in-between 2 of them a few times until we were tired, then back to the boat ramp. We usually get a buddy to be our "spotter" in a kayak, just to ward off any boaters and to provide a rest spot for whoever needs it. next time we get out there, i'll post it for anyone interested. |
