Syria

Assad isn't a good guy by any means, but I struggle to see the "rebels" as being any better.  Similar to Iraq where we took down Saddam because he was a bad guy...  I guess we showed him... 
My bigger concern is that there are interests who want the US to stay involved in Syria.  There is absolutely zero incentive for Assad to use chemical weapons on his people with the US pulling out because it's the only way the US stays there.  If we leave then he wins and has a great relationship with Russia.  Then we all of a sudden have a chemical attack against his own people by Assad?  It just doesn't make any sense unless you consider that those who WANT the US to stay involved were the ones doing the chemical attack and making it look like it was Assad.  I'll admit I've read a lot of spy novels, but this is the kind of stuff that the CIA and other countries intelligence agencies do.  They cause propaganda and outrage to shape behavior by political leaders.

I hate to admit that I've gotten to the point that I truly would not be surprised if Israel or even our own CIA gassed civilians to keep us in the war.  The only thing I know about it is the person being blamed (Assad) seems to be the one with the least amount of motivation to do it so it's hard for me to comprehend why he would.

1300 were killed in a Sarin gas attack by the Syrian govt......AFTER Obama declared that chemical weapons were a "red line" for us that could not be crossed.......let's not forget that Obama and our govt. did NOTHING and chemical weapons continue to be used.  I don't care who did it, it cannot be tolerated.  And Tony - our govt. knows who used the gas....don't think otherwise.  Because if they don't, we have MUCH bigger problems than Sarin gas.

I truly hope that our government does know who is doing it and acts accordingly.  Propaganda is very real and there are very bad people in very powerful positions that use it extensively to shape the world.  We've been lied to before and we will be lied to again.

Bottom line.....chemical weapons are against international law and objectively immoral.  The US has the means and the will to enforce that law for the good of the world. 

Keep in mind mdg - it was the Obama administration who backed the rebels and got us involved there....drew the "red line", and then did NOTHING when it was crossed.  Lead or get out of the way......enter President Trump.

As I mentioned, I still feel there's something weird going on here with the chemical weapons use but all I can do is trust that these guys have the right intel and aren't stupid.  I know, it's a stretch.
From an execution of the attack standpoint, I'm very proud of my Navy brothers and sisters who lobbed the majority of the ordinance.  I was chuckling about the Russians claiming that over 70 missiles were shot down.  Then of course one of the MSM outlets was interviewing an engineer from one of the attacked buildings who was very sad because his lifetime of work had been destroyed.  They even asked him if he made chemical weapons and he responded no.  My wife, who doesn't follow politics much screamed out something to the effect of "of course he's going to say that you morons!!!"  lol 

Our media is seriously a propaganda outlet for our enemies.
