Veteran 513 | Subject: NBC and OLympic Hockey Coverage--USA vs Canada game bumped for -ICE DANCING Okay, this is really grinding my axe. NBC has bumped the US vs. Canada game for ice dancing. This is the biggest joke ever. I mean, the bigger joke is ice dancing, but it is not even a medal round thing for the ice dancing. Of course, they delay the broadcast on the other network, and on all of the other channels run a ticker that shows the score. Smart move ya dullards at NBC. This is a great chance for the buffoon that is Mike Milbury to toot his own horn an promote the NHL on NBC and hear himself talk. So, if you are of the same state of mind, I found this information on NBC's Olympic coverage FACEBOOK page: "Call or email NBC's Chris McCloskey VP of communications at the following to complain about the coverage. They want the feedback!" Mods,I am sorry if posting this is against regulations, and edit as seen fit, but I thought others might like this info as well. |

I'll jump in on the Russia/USA situation---ummmmm hope the US wins in a high scoring game with Ovechkin getting a hat trick for Russia............kinda the best of both worlds.... Oh and Sid the kid got a goal but he's no hero-----good thing he got that shoot-out goal the other day too.......... |

Expert 1690 | Subject: RE: NBC and OLympic Hockey Coverage--USA vs Canada game bumped for -ICE DANCING i was more impressed with David Miller than i wsa with anything else USA did, canada really played lack luster for a while, seriously like 4 shots on goal in the 2nd. their 3rd period play stepped up big, those last 7 minutes were intense, canada showed superior puck control and some good shots were amazingly blocked. Canada D wasnt as strong it seemed, i think they were expecting the forwards to dominate puck time. |

I followed the game online, sounds like it was an awesome game. Looking forward to the next game, maybe this time it'll be on real TV in HD. |

I mean the game they even called the BOrder War and NBC stuck their heads where the sun don't shine and thought of this great idea. Well, a solid game, and blairrob I agree with you on Gary's Kids (Cindy etc). I would think Iginla would have pulled up the bootstraps and fought through. However, what about Drew Doughty and how solid he has been. Smart choice by Yzerman, and the reason why I love having season seats to the Kings. Now you know why we hate America. Sheesh, our local hero Cindy Crosby is -3. On the the ice for the first 3 US goals. Some hero. Can't even score on a powerplay with the Americans backing up. This is bad news. |

I can't get over how solid that kid is- I had hardly heard of the guy before the Olympics and he's a standout at the hardest position to play. Whatever happened to 'defencemen don't mature until their late 20's'. I love Yzerman, smart guy, great dedication, so I believe the boys he picked will pull it off will probably pull it off may yet pull it off are in big trouble. |

Expert 1706 NoVA | Subject: RE: NBC and OLympic Hockey Coverage--USA vs Canada game bumped for -ICE DANCING Oh I wouldn't rush to say Canada is in BIG trouble...yet... This is still a wide open tournament---too much talent playing for anyone to be counted out---this isn't like the US win vs Russia in '80---don't think anyone is "sneaking" up or surprising anyone in this tournament. And while we are complaining about NBC "coverage"---this Pacific time thing is killing me---I really had to MAKE myself go to bed last night instead of watching the midnight game---bad enough I've been watching the Russians (Ovechkin) play at midnight till 2am........... So looking forward 4 years---the NHL has to take an Olympic break because I WILL watch games live at 3am!!!!!!!!! (In case this has been covered everywhere---the NHL is talking about NO Olympic break for the next games because it will be in Russia and "nobody" will be up to watch games in the middle of the night---this would obviously cause NHL players to be excluded or miss a couple weeks of the NHL season---Ovechkin has already said F-it I AM playing in my home country PERIOD---and he has a big supporter in Ted Leonsis (Caps owner)---he's also thinks the NHL "owes" the Russian players the chance to play in the Olympics on their home soil since they have done so much to make the NHL what it now is..................of course if NBC isn't going to put big games on NBC anyways does it matter if they play in Canada, Russia or the MOON!?!?!?!?!!? //sorry rant off// |

Iron Donkey 38643 , Wisconsin | Subject: RE: NBC and OLympic Hockey Coverage--USA vs Canada game bumped for -ICE DANCING Very good game. Canada is very tough! The US defence couldn't get the puck away enough - luckily the goalie was tight. The thing was, Canada had so many more shots on goal but the percentage was quite low compared to the US. Canada had too many penalties, which may have hurt them. I understand the high-intensity play, the drive and desire to win, the toughness of the sport, BUT, the slashing, the intentional grab on the head and neck from behind, and the intentional grab and slam into the boards, that's cheap and dirty play. C'mon, Canada - you're a much better team than doing that kind of stuff. |

I see the guy play 6 times a year at least, and he is a diving brat who can't back up his words. I don't think this is the type of player Canada wants representing them. |

Extreme Veteran 446 Barrington, IL | Subject: RE: NBC and OLympic Hockey Coverage--USA vs Canada game bumped for -ICE DANCING Great Game!!! Miller rocked last night. I was not happy with the MSNBC, however if it was on NBC it would have had a ton of commercial, swapping to other sports and not a coherent feel. They should have put it on USA so people with HD could have benefited. That was their biggest mistake. |

Brian Rafalski (University of Wisconsin) - 4G 1A 5Pts Ryan Suter (University of Wisconsin) - 0G 4A 4Pts Ryan Malone (St. Cloud State University) - 2G 1A 3Pts David Backes (Minnesota State University-Mankato) - 1G 2A 3Pts Zach Parise (University of North Dakota) - 0G 3A 3Pts Chris Drury (Boston University) - 2G 0A 2Pts Phil Kessel (University of Minnesota) - 1G 1A 2Pts Joe Pavelski (University of Wisconsin) - 0G 2A 2Pts Jack Johnson (University of Michigan) - 0G 1A 1Pts Ryan Miller (Michigan State) - What needs to be said? |

Yep, that is right hockey fans we have now been bumped for watching people ski around a course for a couple of hours. Kind of like NASCAR minus the girls, noise, beer, car crashes, or 200 MPH speeds all on snow |
