I did this one 2 years ago and it was an awesome race. Really a grass roots type race with great community support.

Enjoy!

Hi~
Anyone know how choppy the water is there, in general? I'm thinking about this for next year to extend the season. I like reliable oxygen if possible. Thanks

It's in a harbor, so it's been calm the past two years. This is my anniversary race and the race that got me into the sport. Nice and small, well run and perfect to end the season.

Well i did the Cycle Route on Sat. The road is not super smooth but it pretty good. There are a few hills but really nothing to major, very gentle. The first half of it is flat with a few very gentle hills and the loop back is flat with gentle down hills.

The run is a tiny bit uphill on the way out but manly flat, the loop back is easier than the way out because of the very slight hills and the wind can be a factor. I workout at this YMCA every day and the water normaly stays fairly calm.

Now there is 2 diff swim routes here. They say if the e Coli levels are too high in the bay the swim moves to about 1/4 mile from the tranistion area. So be prepared you may have to run 1/4 mile back out of the swim to get your bike. I asked yesterday is they had measured the levels yet and they had no info on it yet. I will keep you posted.

Weather is looking like 80 for the high but that time in day i would say your looking att 68-72 in general. I live in Two Rivers and Work in Manitowoc so if you need any info let me know.

The swim is inside the breakwater, and is pretty shallow... but the last couple years at least the water has been calm...
my guess is that it only gets bad if the wind is coming straight from the east.

ok so i picked up my packet this morning and all the cones are being put out.

Im in Wave 1! dang! going to be alot of ppl overtaking me

Im #12 if anyone is looking for me. It says there are no timing chips..times will be entered by hand..

40% chance of rain as of right now which sucks and could be some thunderstorms.

Very cool, i am not looking forward to making the drive up there tomorrow... but it is a fun race.

I will be looking for #12, and a Freakishly Tall Blonde guy in a donkey uni...

the ONLY complaint i have about this race is that they don't do your Transition splits... but... its fun!

nice shirts this year too.

No transistions! dang it. My Green Bay transistions were way too long and i worked hard on speeding them up.

DOes the Midwest series always use chip timing?
