Subject: Can't get enough air sometimes....

I just can't seem to get my breath sometimes when excersing real hard. I was starting to wonder if I have Exercise Induced Asthma. Although, I have no other symptoms (including wheezing or spasms).

Does anyone have experience with excercise induced asthma?
I'm not sure if I have this - I guess its time to check with a doctor.

At some point (mostly when running), I just can't seem to get enough air to satisfy the body's demands. Maybe I just have a low anarobic threshhold or VO2 max? I was just reading an article on this subject, but I'm not real sure if I'm clear on the details.

Anybody else have this chronic problem??

I've got EIA--only happens when running in cold, dry air....never with cycling or swimming. Your local doc should be able to prescribe something for you. I don't want to recommend meds to you since I'm not a doc, but he/she can help you out.

I only have a problem once or twice a year, but then I really have to stop. Taking the inhaler before hand takes away almost all symptoms and a very slow warm up helps too.

good luck!

def see a doc and get a prescription...at work i had to get fitted for a respirator and they tested my lung capacity...i failed...they asked if i have shortness of breath exercising...i do in certain times of the season...pollens and stuff...i will weeze some.  i did have asthma as a kid...they told me i could get a prescription inhaler and take a shot before the exercise to loosen the airway as i have a 'reactive airway'.

u should see a doc.  sounds very similiar.  u need all the O2's u can get.
