Subject: Ironman Wisconsin or Louisville
I am planning on doing my first Ironman next year and was wondering what you guys thought about which race to do. I am planning on doing Wisconsin but am still toying with Louisville. What do you guys think. I know Madison is pretty tough and I don't know much about Louisville. Thanks.

You may want to do some searches on the Ironman board. Lots of good information about both. Also read some race reports on both from past years as you can learn a lot from folks that have done both.

Big difference to me is heat/humidity in Louisville and WI weather can be all over the place..some years 50's and rain, others baking hot, and last year great. I'm not a hot/humid person so KY I'd never consider but that is just me.

What I did was make a list of pros and cons for each race I considered given my strengths and weaknesses as well as things about how it would fit into my life.

One of the most important things for me was when they were,, The timing for IMKY works well for my training and work schedule.. Karen (KSH) had a nice list of items that she considered when picking an IM
