Subject: Swimming in Madison

I'm going to be in Madison for 9 days and need to find a place to swim. I'll be staying downtown, just a few blocks from Capitol Square. Can anyone suggest a pool that wouldn't require driving?

I realize there are great open water opportunities, but I'm swimming with one arm due to injury so I think it would be best to stay in the safety of the pool.

I don't think there are any pools walking distance that are open to the public right now. There's a public (outdoor) pool that's fairly close to downtown, but it closes on the 31st - so you've got a couple of days there.

There are school pools, but they're closed right now, too. They open up again mid-September.

If you're desperate, and your schedule works with mine, I can sponsor you as a guest at the SERF for 5 bucks a day. But, we have to be there at the same time. The SERF is walking distance to downtown. The pool is closed right now but re-opens on Saturday.  Here are the pool hours:

As long as you don't mind having a gimpy, one-armed swimmer in a sling with you! I'll PM my cell and email so we can see if our schedules match up at all. It's so nice of you to offer!
