Subject: Another person in need of help.

Hi all,
I posted this over on the main Tri Board but I thought I would post it here too. I've been a long time lurker on this site so I've read a lot of posts about bikes. I know that I want a road bike over a tri bike and I know a lot of people have used Bikes Direct. I'm just having a hard time knowing which is a good bike to purchase. I could tell you anything about the swim part of a tri but when it comes to the bike part I haven't a clue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the Gigi would have the best components, and a triple (meaning three gears on the front) would be a good choice. I would try to buy a better bike than the Sheila -- It is less money, but you will want to upgrade soon after buying it, so I would look at that as wasted money.

But, above all, it has to fit. Have you checked around at any local bike shops near you? You may be able to get a sweet deal on a bike this time of year and then you can have a chance to ride a few around to get a feel for it.
