Subject: making a recipe
As a chef, i make all my own food at home too...I make large batches, and then measure out portions.  But, I can't find anywhere how to input a whole recipe and then put in portion size.  I can only figure out how to input a recipe for 1 serving.  help!   Hope that maked sense!

RECIPE - If you go with the recipe route like you have, here is what you do.  Create the recipe on the batch by logging the whole batch on one day (even though you aren't actually eating all of it).  Once it's saved as a recipe, you can then delete it from your daily nutrition log.

To log that recipe to a serving size:  Select that recipe from your dropdown. Then you will be able to edit the quantity.  For example you make a batch of chili that has 10 portions.  Enter the whole batch, 'save as a recipe', delete it from your daily nutrition log (cuz you aren't eating that much), then relog it whenever you use it by selecting it from the 'recipes' dropdown.  CHANGE the 'qty' to a decimal.  So you eat one portion of the chili batch made for 10 portions, you log it as '0.1' for the quantity and press 'update'.

THE OTHER WAY - CUSTOM FOOD.  I don't want to confuse you but you can create a 'custom food' by doing the math yourself and summing up all the important nutrients for a batch of food from the labels.  You specify your own 'measurement' when inputing the nutrients.  For the batch of chili that serves 10 portions you can give the measurement '10 cups'.  Then when you select that custom food, for qty you enter 0.1.
