Pre-race routine:

Ate a yogurt. Took my vitamins and meds. Taped up the toe I mangled last week and put on an Intelligel Toe Cap to protect it.
Event warmup:

A short jog. Lots of nervous energy. Still intimidated by those around me when I get ready.

Comments:

Went out a little quick but had enough sense to ease up a little between 4K and 7K before picking it up again. Still not thinking clearly when I run. I push at the wrong times. 2 minute improvement over previous PR, but the course was very flat in comparison to the Ile Bizard 10K course.

Very crowded start, lots of jostling. I found the race a bit crowded the whole way. It could be me but I found other runners to be a little rude. One runner made a point of crossing in front of me as close as he possibly could at around the 7K mark for no good reason other than he wanted the line I was running. Another 4 seconds he would have been well clear of me and I wouldn't have had to slow a stride.
What would you do differently?:

Wouldn't wear a hat or shell. It was warm enough to go just with a shirt today. Probably would have eased up a little earlier and held off a little longer on trying to push for home.
