Subject: Tapering to peak?
This is my second season of tri's (this one being more focused). I sprint tri's on 7/11 and 7/19. How much and when should i taper? Do i lower frequency, duration, intensity, or workouts. Is it possible to peak for both? If i run about 30 mi, swim about 4500m, and bike about 60 mi a week, what and when do i drop those numbers. And after the races when can i jumpstart my training again for my mid-aug tri's?
-Ne tips would be greatly appreciated.

For sprints I don't taper but for races that I do taper for I follow a non-standard method.  I never feel my best right after a down week so my lightest week is 2 weeks before a race and then I start building back up.  So the week of my race is not a hard week but it is bigger then the previous week.  My taper is in duration of the workouts, so I do less distance.  Intensity is the same or higher.  I might skip a few workouts if I'm dealing with a nagging injury but if not I keep the frequency the same.

yea, the day before is it good to do a 10 min swim/bike/run, just to feel fresh and comfortable?
