Subject: Triple Bypass sag support???
Hi everyone! My husband is doing the Triple Bypass on Saturday and I'm thinking about driving up there with my two boys to offer support, cheers, etc... Do any of you have any advice on where the best place to go is? I looked on the website and they say the aid stations, but I was thinking about going places a little less crowded???

Also, for those of you that have done it, what type of things would you have liked to have had along the way (other than what was provided at aid stations)?? Or, do they do such a great job at the stations that you don't really need anything else?

I'm just trying to think of ways to support my husband along the way!
Thanks!
Aimee

I'm not riding this year but I have ridden in the past.  The aid stations are actually stocked pretty well for this ride.  But the one thing that I always appreciate is "cold" beverages.  They are never cold at the aid stations.  I would say bring cold water, sports drink, etc. for your husband.  As far as where to meet up with him other than the aid stations?  Seems I have often skipped the aid station at Frisco and stopped at Copper Mountain.  For some reason I like to stop and have a coke before headed up Vail Pass.  The one aid station I would make sure to meet your husband is the one at Loveland Ski Area.  That one has always been welcome as it's a long steady climb getting there!

Something I thought about last week when I was driving the I70 frontage road from Georgetown to Idaho Springs, there is about a 3 or 4 mile stretch that they are doing construction on (this is around where the Easter Seal Camp is).  No pavement at all on this stretch!  I'm not sure how Team Evergreen is going to handle this...I assume have the riders go on I70.  But this section in my opinion is not ridable for that distance on a road bike!

Nice of you to support your husband!  If your boys wanted to make a few bucks they could probably sell ice cold drinks to many of the cyclists as you stop to wait for your husband.

Just found this on the Triple Bypass website, alternate route info for private SAG vehicles: http://www.teamevergreen.org/pdf/AltRouteInstructions.pdf
