Subject: Just not hungry?...
Not that I'm complaining and I'm going to knock on wood here...but lately (last 2 weeks or so) I just haven't felt hungry and when I do eat I feel nauseous after a small amount of food (ie. today I had a small bowl of soup for lunch with a whole wheat roll and I was pretty much force feeding myself and I only had half a bagel with peanut butter for b-fast--about 5 hrs before that)..Does anyone else experience this?

I have been training 6-8hrs a week with a pretty good mix of swim, bike, run training...my life is relatively stress free otherwise...I'm taking some time off before I go back to school in Sept and just taking everyhting as it comes...I guess I am a little hyper-aware of being healthy and "smaller" because I am going into medicine and I feel that physicians definately have an obligation to society to be healthy role models, but I never really saw myself as a potentially bad role model...It is summer time and hot...but I usually GAIN weight in the summer...I just can't really nail down why I don't feel like eating...

Any thoughts...?

I notice the less and less I eat, the less hungry I get.  For instance I'm hungrier eating 2000 calories/day than 1300/day.  Don't know where your overall calories are, but it's just something i've noticed about myself.   So if i'm on the low end of calories, i have to be careful to make sure i am indeed getting enough, b/c it can become really easy to just skip a meal and not even think twice about it.

This happens to me sometimes... I'll just go through phases where I'm not very hungry.  I do battle with the nausea as well, and I think this stomach sensitivity is part of the reason why my appetite is low.  Because they are offset by much longer phases where my appetite is normal to strong, I don't really worry about it.  Plus, I am kind of thinking it's related to birth control pills.

HOWEVER.  There are certain things I just can't eat anymore (like chicken) because they tend to trigger nausea for me.  It took me a very long time to nail down that chicken was an issue for me, so you might want to keep a food log to help you figure things out when you're having issues.  Note what you ate and your level of stomach upset.  Could come in handy if you ever decide to see a doctor about it.
