Subject: Sanford and Sun
Is anyone else participating in this race next weekend?  I heard from a friend in the area that the lake is seaweed infested?

Not racing this year, but have the race the past two years.  I'd say "weed infested" is a little strong.  In the past they've gone through with the weed thresher to try to clear out the shallow areas a bit.  Once the water gets a little deeper, weeds aren't really too much of a problem.

Ill be there again this year.  Last year they did a pretty good job of cutting "lanes" of weeds out of the way around the markers.  I went a little out of the lanes one time and they are up to the surface and pretty thick.  I ended up just grabing handfuls of weeds and pulling my self along until i got back where i needed to be.

 As long as you stay in the trimed area's you will have no problems.
