My club The Louisville Bicycle Club, along with the Louisville Land Sharks are sponsoring a benefit ride for John Carr's children's education fund. The ride is scheduled for Saturday August 22 at 9a.m. from the yellow lot at river front park. This is the lot just past Tumbleweed on the left on River rd. IMLOU bike route. This is a slow and easy ride on our normal schedule 17 and 35 mile routes. John Carr's wife Sunni and their children will be in attendence. Please bring fellow riders, friends, and family members to show your support for the Carr family and spread the message about rider safety and awareness.

An education fund has been established for the Carr children Donations will be accepted at the following:

Commonwealth Credit Union
c/o Carr Children Education Account or
Sunni Carr
PO Box 978
Frankfort, KY 40602-0978

This was just announced at our annual summer picnic I will keep you informed as more info comes in.

Thanks
Tim

Tim: thanks for posting this information. If you're interested in volunteering, we need people for the following positions:

- Ride marshals: each marshal leaves the Yellow Lot with a group of 20-25 riders
- Traffic/parking patrol: stationed at Yellow Lot, Tumbleweed, Blue Lot, directing people to park
- Sign-in: circulate through the crowd with clipboards, cue sheets
- Sign-in table: manage giant cards for riders to sign for the Carr family
- Mechanical: offer to pump tires, adjust brakes, etc.
- EMT: anyone with medical training/background to keep an eye out for riders

Please contact me, Marion Hambrick, at [email protected]. Please wear your team or club jerseys at the ride. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
