Subject: Suggestions on Bike Shoes
I am a size 50 in shoes, I recently purchased a bike with clipless pedals and have to order the shoes on-line.  Any suggestions regarding a brand or type at a good price point.  Thanks

Are you looking for Tri Shoes?
I just bought a pair of Louis Garneau Tri Air 2's from Performance. They are on-sale for $99 right now. I have road shoes that I like and just wanted something inexpensive for tri-racing. They seem to fit pretty true. Probably average width. I have a narrow foot and they could be narrower for me, but they are not so wide as to be a problem. They are a tad heavy, but not too bad. I tried several pair of tri shoes, including Performance's Forte C110. They run a tad narrower and look like a decent/simple/basic tri shoe. I didn't go that route because they were not as easy to get into when simulating an on the fly, shoe clipped into the peddle foot insertion.
I haven't tried them, but I have heard that the Pearl Izumi's run a little wider.
I think at $99, it's hard to beat the Tri Air for a price point tri shoe.

If you are looking for a standard road shoe, I would have to say that Shimano shoes are well made and are less expensive than comparable brands.

Lastly, if you are looking for a "price-point" shoe, don't pick-up anything with any combination of the following 3 letters: s, i and d.
