Subject: Bike Fit Q
Does it make sense to have a bike fit performed at a shop that carries your brand of bike?  I purchased my first road bike knowing nothing about bikes and didn't have a fitting.  After riding my new tri bike (and greatly appreciating the excellent fit), I know I need to get the roadie fit.  However, the tri shop that fit my tri bike doesn't sell my roadie brand.  Should I use that shop anyway or find a shop that sells my road bike brand? Admittedly, I'm a totally newbie and the tri shop is upscale, so I might be a little intimidated to take my lowly roadie there.  They were nice when I got the  tri bike fitted, but I still felt a little intimidated.  Opinions?

Brand has very little to do with it.  If you like what they did with your tri-bike, give them a shot with your roadie.

Brand has almost nothing to do with it.  A good shop can measure the frame of any (reasonable) bike, and get you fit correctly on it.

What's much harder to find, is a shop that gives you a great fit.  If you're happy with what they've done, and they also fit road bikes, I'd say head back to that shop.
