Subject: Numb Toes After HIM?I tried posting this in "Injuries & Health Issues", but nobody responded, so we'll give it a shot here... I completed my first HIM last Sunday August 9 (Spirit of Morgantown in WV ). My training leading up to the race this year was not what it should have been. I got Lyme disease in the spring, the weather sucked, my work schedule and my son's sports schedule kept causing me to miss training sessions, then finally, I got bursitis under my left knee cap about 1 month before the race. Because of this, I backed WAY off on my run training in the last month before the race, almost to nothing. My coach & I decided that being undertrained on race day was better than being injured. The run was very difficult, but I just gutted it out. Since then, the second toe on my right foot has been numb. It feels like it was shot up with novacaine. It seems like it's getting a little better, but not much. From what I've found on line, I think it might be Morton's Neuroma, but am not certain. Since it's been more than a week, I wonder if it's possible that I have nerve damage? Who else has had this sort of problem after a race? How long did your's last? Was there anything you did to recover quicker? Edited by TriMyBest 2009-08-17 8:01 PM
