I did my first triathlons after about 15 years. Lost a bunch of weight. Had a an achilles issue and started slacking off. The first two tris were pretty close together. Now my last one of the the season is coming up 9/20. Just have to get my focus back. Seems like I find other things to do instead of training. I feel great after a workout. How do you stay motivated?
It can be hard at the end of the season. I find that group workouts are especially effective for part of my training (masters swim, group track or long run, group rides, etc). Even better are small (2-3 person) groups where the others count on you to show up.
