I have a bright red Lemond and I just know that if I put red tires on it its going to be way faster! Regardless of what they do to the actual characteristics of the bike, I think bikes with matching tires look fast sitting still!

Silly...I know.

mrs gearboy's new bike (specialized Dolce) has blue trim.  I thought I would make it all personalized with blue bar tape and blue tires.  Unfortunately, the one tire had a defect. Even more unfortunately, we discovered this at the start of a large group ride in philly when she had a blow out pulling out with the hundreds of other cyclists.  I was told the lesson was to not mess with her tires when they were perfectly fine.  Personally, I think the lesson was that I should have had her ride them before it mattered.

Do colored tires have a history of not matching up to their non-pigment partners?

I wouldn't be changing my tires just to change them though. I am in need of new bologna and thought I'd go colored. I saw hand full of white and red ones yesterday at our Tri and dig the look...
