Subject: Penalty for an iPod
Does anyone know what the penalty is for using an iPod?  Is it a DQ or time penalty?  I was reading through a race report here and someone admitted to using an ipod for the run.  This sounds euphoric for a HIM or IM and curious what you are risking by doing this?

Most marathons have turned a blind eye to the use of iPods (maybe even legalized them not sure though).

5.8 Illegal Equipment. Any participants who any time uses, wears or carries a headset, radio, headphones, personal audio device, or any other item described in Section 3.4(i) shall be assessed a variable time penalty.

Some race directors will make the rule if you run iPod you will be DQed.
