Hmmm... stand for? It's not an acronym, if that's what you mean. It's a term, coined by Peter Merholz probably in the late 90's, breaking up the word weblog into we-blog, rather than the more obvious web-log. "To blog" is now essentially a verb. sort of like "to google". I wonder if it's in the OED yet. Mine is at home.... I'll get back to you on that.
