Total Time = 1h 08m 26s
Overall Rank = 117/292
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 18/40(70)
Pre-race routine:

Up at 5, ate ussual oatmeal. Drink water.
Event warmup:

Jogged 1/2 mile. Streached. Rode 1 mile small gear, 1 big. Streatched. Swam 200.

(There was a beginer category that I was put in even though I signed up for the regular AG. So instead of AG ranking it will all be rank in beginner class, I was 10 out of 70)
Swim
  • 09m 46s
  • 600 yards
  • 01m 38s / 100 yards
Comments:

really tried to slow down and swim my pace. I was almost dead after swim in my 1st tri. Also, sighted more often. last race I swam way off course. This time I sighted too much and never swan a good stroke. Every time I would try to do more than 1 stroke w/o sighting I would get paranoid that I was headed the wrong way and had to look. I did consciously draf for a little bit, but my hand would touch thier feet every 5 strokes or so. I felt bad for doing that so I moved over.
What would you do differently?:

learn to sight well.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Did not wear wetsuit so that was not an issue. Bike was at far end of transition from swim finish. Had to run a long way bearfoot.
What would you do differently?:

Run faster bearfoot
Bike
  • 33m 56s
  • 10.5 miles
  • 18.57 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt I did well with my old bike. Need to do better climbing, but made up for it down hill. Learned not to peddal in the turns as the peddal hits the ground and makes for an interesting sensation as the back wheel momentarily looses traction...

Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

guy in front of me stopped and held me up some...my bike was on his right and my rack was on his left. practically lifted bike over him. stuffed running watch in back pocket instead of putting it on right away. I had forgotten my racebelt so had number attached to nylon strap with d-type buckle. It was a pain.
What would you do differently?:

not forget race number belt.
Run
  • 25m 44s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

Day after1st tri I pulled a groin muscle and did *zero* running since last tri in may. You could tell...
What would you do differently?:

train
Post race
Warm down:

not much, a little streching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

training. Run finish snuck up on me.

Event comments:

They did have some croud control issues...
