Comments: went a bit off course about 200 yards in but caught it quickly. got back on track. had a bit of trouble going straight bit i always do in this race for some reason. i hadn't been swimming much in the past couple of weeks and it showed:( What would you do differently?: train better! Transition 1
Comments: good transition. Bike
Comments: not illegal to draft and i picked up a shadow at mile 2. he wouldn't get off of me even though i asked (not very politely) and even spit some gatorade over my shoulder. guess i shouldn't get so upset but i won't draft and i don't like it when people suck my wheel. otherwise the ride was good. Transition 2
Comments: lost a shoe when i dismounted and a wonderful volunteer brought it to me before i left transition. awesome! What would you do differently?: ride my own race and ignore the drafters. Run
Comments: started out pretty well and the running legs kicked in early. faded a bit toward the end and got passed in the last mile by 2 people :( legs felt a little heavy. didn't taper at all for this race so i kind of expected it but didn't like it. What would you do differently?: nothing really. i was training through this race so there was not taper. Post race
Warm down: walking and drinking. cheered on others. got the sweat licked off by the dog:) What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of taper and swim training. Event comments: this is a great little race that i have done for about 6 years. very well organized and a fun course. very nice finish area in the park next to the lake.
