Overall Rank = 463/688
Age Group = M25-29
Age Group Rank = 57/69
Pre-race routine:

I drank water and gatorade and had the usual power bar.
Event warmup:

Nothing much really. I just made sure I was mentally prepaired for all transitions and made sure I had my gear set out appropriately.
Swim
  • 15m 44s
  • 800 yards
  • 01m 58s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Train a little more. Actually I should train period. This is my 3rd sprint and I haven't really trained for any of the 3. I am going to get serious about my training as I really enjoy pushing myself to the limits.
Transition 1
  • 04m 31s
Comments:

The run from the beach was a bear. I had a lot of trouble getting my wetsuit off. I haven't had that problem in the past. I think I pushed myself on the swim too much (for me) and got pretty tired.
Bike
  • 43m 41s
  • 13.05 miles
  • 17.92 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

I need to train. I love Tri's and want to become more competitive. I just need to get in race shape.
Transition 2
  • 01m 10s
Comments:

I smoked the T2. I think I had one of the quickest times for my age group. Now granted I don't ride in cleats so I didn't have to change into my running shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 40m 55s
  • 3.98 miles
  • 10m 17s  min/mile
Comments:

Ugly run course.
What would you do differently?:

Train.
Post race
Warm down:

Water, gatorade, food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training. I need to find someone to train with wether it be an individual or a club.

Event comments:

The walk from the parking lot was way too long. All in all, it was a pretty good event. Does anyone have any suggestions on a tri club or training. I live in Arlington Heights. Thanks

That's pretty good for not training at all, nice finish.

There are a few tri clubs around chicago, although I am not a member of any.  One of my coworkers is friends with a coach from Multisport Madness (her name is Jen Harrison, she took 8th overall at Harbor Lights and is going to nationals in 2 weeks, also she did the IM Kona last year) and they're training all the time, I've even gone to a few open-water swim practices with them and they're really nice.  If you're interested in coaching I'd look her or one of her people at Multisport Madness up for sure.

What worked for me was I bought a book for beginners that had a bunch of programs in it and just started going.  It's worked out well.

Best of luck!

Nice race! Way to hang in there through all the heat and wind. Hope you find some training friends out there in Arlington Heights!
