Anyone looking for an OLD SCHOOL tri
(road
) bike? I have a very nice 1987 Centurion Ironman Dave Scott Expert with a 58/60cm
(58.5cm measured center to center, 60.5cm measured center to top
) Tange #1 Cro-Mo Double Butted Japanese Made Frame
(33" Standover Height
), Full Shimano 105 Groupo
(Front and Rear Derailleurs, Crankset, Front and Rear Brakes, Headset, Brake Levers, Downtube Shifters, and Hubs
), 700c Wolber Rims
(with Shimano 105 Hubs
). Frame was completely cleaned and powder coated about 5 years ago. Other than the powder coating, the replacement of the seat, pedals, tires, and grip tape, and the unfortunate "chop and flop" of the handlebars, the bike is totally original and has been kept indoors since its original purchase approximately 24 years ago. The bike is in great condition, the wheels roll straight and true, there are no dings or dents on the frame, and it has never been crashed. Of course it does have minor scratches from use, but it has a brand new seat, new Specialized S-Works tires
(front has approximately 500 miles, rear less than 20 miles -- these tires were $50 each and have a lifetime warranty through Specialized
), new Profile Design handle bar tape and just had a full tune-up from a local bike shop, so it is ready for the road.
I’d take $175.00 with local delivery (I’d be willing to drive 60-90 minutes from Central Louisiana if you live close) or $250.00 shipped CONUS (shipping will cost right at $75.00).
