Subject: Online brokerage firm recommedation

I need to get a brokerage account opened up.  Anyone have any recommendations?  I was leaning towards Ameritrade.  We're not talking about a huge complicated portfolio.  Simple mutual fund investing.

Ameritrade has the largest selection of Mutual funds of any online broker. Just read that in the WSJ. I use ameritrade too. I like it a lot. What you have to look at is not only the trade fees, theirs is $10.99 each, but also quarterly fees, and account minimums, etc. If you keep over say $10k in your account, no fees. Stuff like that. Yeah, there are cheaper places, but I think Etrade and Ameritrade have the best of them all.
