Finished my second tri over the weekend. 1/2 mile swim, 13.5 bike, 4 mile run. Overall great experience. Again realized the importance of effecient transitioning. Simple errors or lack of concentration can add seconds or minutes onto one's time. Since my first tri earlier this summer, I bought a fuji racing bike and it made a huge difference. Picked up about 8 minutes on the bike and my legs were fresher on the run. Water was calm and flat which made for a nice quick swim. Bike and gentle rollers which were easy to mount and allowed for some brief recovery.

Only problem I have now is that living in NY the tri season is essentially over until spring so being bitten by the competitive bug, I don't know what to do with myself. I guess a few 5 and 10K's but just isn't the same.

Congrats on great race! I agree with Ron that winter is a great time to work on swim, but I also suggest hitting the weights. I have neglected this ever since I started to think about doing triathlons, but I am committed to doing it during the off season this year.

Still Tri'n
