Comments: Good swim, took about 300 metres to get into the rhythm and I struggled with the breathing for a while, but I found the stroke after this and the rest was really good. What would you do differently?: Try to be less nervous and start out a bit more slowly. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Long transition, 400m from swim exit to bike rack. Found bike ok, wetsuit was off. What would you do differently?: Nothing. ![]() Bike
Comments: Didn't try hard enough on the bike, I cruised along and was overtaken where I shouldn't have been. Trying to 'save' my legs for the run when I should have really pushed through the pain up the hills. Wind factor very high on the inward leg towards the finish. What would you do differently?: Clipless pedals and aero bars. Also dont 'cruise', push through the pain and try for a faster time. I could have done way better. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Good quick transition, but I only had to take helmet off and rack bike as was already wearing running shoes. What would you do differently?: Run faster with bike. ![]() Run
Comments: Tough run, legs like jelly off the bike, got into the 'rhythm' on the second lap but suffered from serious stitch the whole way. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Train for speed more and not endurance as this is only a short distance. More brick sessions. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Massage and stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: My right leg seriously hindered my performance as I have not been able to run as I normally would which also affected the bike. Disappointing.
