Swim
  • 11m 51s
  • 440 yards
  • 02m 41s / 100 yards
Comments:

Went out way too fast! Let my adrenaline get the better of me. Never really got back into a form until the last 50yds.
What would you do differently?:

Swim at a better pace from the beginning.
Transition 1
  • 02m 8s
Comments:

Thought I did OK for my first stab at it.
What would you do differently?:

Practiced more than I did before the race!
Bike
  • 34m 46s
  • 10.5 miles
  • 18.12 mile/hr
Comments:

Looked forward to seeing the bike after the horrible swim. Seeing that I did all my training on a mountain bike and then rented a street bike for the race I was quite pleased.
What would you do differently?:

Went out a little faster in the start.
Transition 2
  • 01m 4s
Comments:

Thought I did a great 2nd transition.
What would you do differently?:

Do not think I could have done much better.
Run
  • 34m 28s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

Took a while to get into the flow after the bike, my calves were real tight. Once I got going was OK but expected to run around 30 minutes.
What would you do differently?:

Would have tried to run through the tigtness in my legs and at a little faster pace.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Better preperation in the swim especailly.

Event comments:

Overall I was quite happy with my first race. I am HOOKED and can not wait to race again!

Great job and congratulations on completing your first triathlon. Your report sounds like my first tri. Learning pace, especially on the swim is hard. With all the excitement and adrenaline, it's hard not to spring out of the block. That was a great bike time especially for a rental. Once again congratulations.
